Thrilling Thursdays: It’s All In The Cards
When you're busy working hard it's easy to forget to relax. Here at VisionPoint Marketing we're lucky enough to be tasked with taking a break. One Thursday each month we take a few hours out of our day of building websites for some fun with our co-VisionPointers.
Since we've grown a lot recently, our part part part time Emperor of the Party Planning Commitee, Uli, decided a round of card and board games would be the actitivies for the afternoon.
Half of the team took over the conference room and battled out a heated friendly game of Texas Hold'em. Poker newby Gail felt timid at first but quickly took to the game and saw few bad hands all game while veteran Tony saw the benefits of a good poker face and bluffed won a few great pots. In the end it was Erik, the silent assasin of poker who won over Uli putting together a 2-3-4-5-6 straight over Uli's two-pair on the river card for the victory.
The 'War Room' became a friendly battleground for games of Munchkin and Monopoly. Initially Munchkin proved confusing but after Chris explained it to everyone, questions quickly turned to cheering and laughing. The war was won by Christine.
No money was exchanged, obviously, but we all had our eyes on the prize of either a $15 gift card to the Apple App store or a $15 Starbucks gift card. But at VisionPoint everyone is a winner, so each participating team member received a prize (Free Junior Frosty at Wendy's, anyone?).
