VisionPoint Marketing Thanks Its Clients for Ten Great Years
VisionPoint Marketing brought together a few of its clients earlier this month for a quiet gathering. The goal was to create an opportunity for the company's CEO Diane Kuehn to show gratitude to all those who have helped make her company such a great success.
Ten client representatives attended from the Jenkins MBA program at the Poole College of Management, UNC Charlotte, Campbell University and Wake Tech Community College.
The catalyst was VisionPoint Marketing reaching its 10 year anniversary this year. Kuehn told the group of her company's humble starts: While most marketing agencies arrive through an acquisition, with existing clients or investors; VisionPoint Marketing had none of that. "The company was just me. I had nothing but a vision of how to use web technology to create something meaningful that truly helped clients connect with their target audiences," Kuehn said.
VisionPoint marketing’s timing was also bad –-this was a technology firm in the wake of the tech bubble burst. “We essentially were the poster child for when to not start a company,” Kuehn said.
Building an empire out of the rubble
Kuehn explained that after securing her first big client with Best Buy, she then went on to gain a large dental office client and then five years ago entered the higher education arena.
First she worked with the Jenkins MBA program at the Poole College of Management at NC State University, then with the Poole College of Management’s undergraduate program. This segued into work with UNC Charlotte, Campbell University, Boston College, Community College of Baltimore County and Wake Tech Community College. To meet these new work demands, Kuehn hired web designers, web engineers, strategists, account managers and a content strategist. In the last year the company has almost doubled its employees.
Kuehn explained to her clients how every facet of VisionPoint Marketing's work has helped her company build its brand and credibility and carve out a niche in higher education. Each project, each account taught the VisionPoint team new things and helped offer excellent case studies we could show to new, prospective clients, Kuehn said. "It was touching to share this with my clients. I feel very grateful for all that everyone has done for us."
Next, VisionPoint Marketing employees get to celebrate the company's 10th year in perfect style: With a day at the lake and dinner out. "We have much celebrating to do," Kuehn said. "Making it to 10 years is a big deal!"
